Quick View
This wine is gradually improving as the vineyards we have planted with the best burgundian clones since the early 90's start to reach their full potential.
The vintage
Climatic conditions were a carbon-copy of the excellent 2007 vintage. Budburst at the end of April was quite late, but May was warm and sunny so flowering began on 15th June and took more than a fortnight to complete.
July and August were particularly cool with hardly any rise in temperature, but in mid-September the Indian Summer arrived without a drop of rain. The sky stayed bright but temperatures were relatively cool.
As a result, the grapes ripened slowly but fully, perfectly healthy and with excellent acidity. In late October we harvested VT and SGN wines with historically high levels of sugar and acidity.
The 2008 Alsace vintage was already born great but may prove to be exceptional.

In the vineyard
The heart of this Pinot Noir JUBILEE comes from a vineyard planted in 1966 in our family estate in the Pflostig slope, with an average yield of under 40 hl/ha and potential alcohol of more than 12°.
Winemaking
The grapes are destemmed and macerated for about 2 weeks, with manual immersion of the cap (pigeage) to ensure the best possible extraction. The wine is matured for almost 10 months in small oak barriques, which are partially renewed each year.

Tasting notes by Serge Dubs, World's Best Sommelier 1989
Good colour intensity, bright, moderately transparent nuances of garnet red and a slight nuance of evolution which gives it a pleasant silky appearance.
Open bouquet without exuberance, harmonious, soft, aromas of red berries: blueberry, red currant, raspberry, cherries, a little under-wood, spicy, white pepper, nutmeg, chanterelle.
On the palate the attack is frank, direct, with a good presence of tannins in harmony with good weight and structure.
Beautiful overall harmony with style. Wine that expresses itself perfectly now.
Serve between 16 ° and 18 ° with red and white meat, beef ribs, veal, rack of lamb, guinea fowl in the oven, or even with grilled or smoked fish.
